The wedding day has already started by the time the photographer arrives. Lots of things have happened. Breakfast has been eaten at different intervals. People are still arriving. Hair and make-up artists are tending to those under their care. Mum, Dad and siblings are in various stages of readiness and dress. There’s a sense of the unknown, “Are we all going to be walking out the door at the same time?!” “Will it rain?” “Are the decorations ready for our wedding at Dedes Restaurant?”
Wedding cars, if being used, show up at their pre-arranged time. The drivers hop out and run a cloth here and there over the coachwork. Their arrival delineates time like nothing else. There’s always a cry from the house, “The cars are here!” And the excitement levels build as the final preparations continue.
Bec was serene and beautiful in the middle of all of this. It is, after all, for her, that all this happens; that her closest friends, her family and the people she loves the most in the world are gathered around celebrating and preparing for bigger celebrations because she’s found love with someone with whom she wants to spend every possible moment.
Chris waited at the end of the aisle at the Abbotsford Presbyterian Church.
Bec kept him waiting for just a few moments and his broad smile widened as she walked into the church, walking with her father down the aisle.
Family photographs afterwards, and after all that lovely congratulatory greetings and kisses and hugs that end every wedding ceremony.
Our recent Sydney weather has proved more than a little inclement and we’d had downpours on the day of and leading up to their wedding. But it held off and gave us time to do some bridal party photographs in a nearby reserve around the corner from the reception.
Dedes at the Point, Sydney Rowing Club, provided great food and views – a lovely location for the reception.
After the speeches the dancing swung into action. Plenty of great moves on the floor until it was time to say goodbye and wish Chris and Bec the very best in their marriage after such a brilliant start.
If you’ve found the one, the love of your life, and you are now planning your wedding at Dedes Restaurant or any other wonderful venue and want beautiful photography to remember this special day then it’s time to talk to Sarah or myself. We take compelling, elegant and timeless stills. We capture the most valuable images in the world. Yours.
