Dave and Katie are getting married later in the year in Sydney and don’t they make a really attractive couple! This was a wonderful Balmain engagement shoot to shoot with them. It was on a really perfect weekend afternoon on the peninsula and as the day ended the light just kept getting better and better.
One of my friends recently asked me why we only shoot good looking people. I’m sure all our clients would love to know that! I was right – you are all beautiful! As far as I’m concerned everyone is attractive, good-looking and beautiful, and what we try to do is go the next step with terrific posing, great camera work and a few (light-handed) post-production techniques.
Generally it helps that we’re photographing people at their best. They’re in love, they’re happy, they’re having a good time (yes, even with me!), they’re excited, and with the occasional reassurance of a glimpse at a shot or two on the back of the camera, they really get into it. Sometimes it takes a little time to warm up, but once they get going, beautiful.
It partly becomes self-fulfilling that the photos are going to work out really well because their confidence is up, so as a shoot goes on, the photos keep getting better and better. Come and try it!
Anyway, here’s shots of Dave and Katie in this super Autumnal sun. My favourite? I like the one with Dave running gloriously past Katie.
