I think Karen spent a week worrying about the wedding day weather, since Sydney had taken a turn for the worse, and we were getting and expecting lots of flooding. Yet the rains skirted us throughout most of the day for which we were very grateful. It did mean a change of ceremony location from outside to inside the Bella Vista farm barn (say it quickly). From my point of view the location is wonderful.
The moral of that story is – do be prepared to accept that not everything on a wedding day will go according to plan. Be flexible and plan for obvious possibilities.
Craig’s a Liverpool FC supporter (when my team Leicester isn’t in the Premier League I’m a Liverpool supporter too i.e. most of the time) and that enthusiasm was highlighted in Craig’s choice of accessories.
Karen is very detail orientated and had so much covered it was quite amazing. Her Dad had done the signage for the wedding with the geographic locations of significant places for Karen and Craig.
There were flowers in abundance, multiple shoe choices, jewellery (including her Grandmother’s watch, a really lovely touch), a lolly buffet, a photobooth cleverly arranged by her sisters and more besides.
Karen clearly creates happiness wherever she goes. She has that infectious laugh that comes readily and a fabulous smile. It makes her a dream to photograph.
As an aside, Craig’s brother reminded me strongly of the Hangover star Zach Galifianakis (my interpretation might not be yours of course! User mileage may vary). I mentioned this during the reception to someone and they remarked that Karen’s cousin thought I looked like the other guy from the movie, Ed Helms. We really needed a Mike Tyson to sort it out.
Sarah and I wish Karen and Craig the very best in their married life. Thank you for letting us photograph your beautiful wedding day.
