A tip from a photographer friend of Johnny and Laurence’s was to wear red. I think it paid off in spades. Yep, it’s the colour of danger, stop signs, warnings on chemical bottles, bull fighting capes and fire. It’s also the colour of strawberries and ferrari’s. The red rose is dedicated to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and daughter of Zeus. In Greek mythology it was a symbol for love and affinity.
Wasn’t there a lady who wore a red dress in the Matrix? A lady in a red dress. You just turn your head. Laurence has that beautiful, head turning look too but it wouldn’t matter what colour she was wearing…
We met at the QVB and wandered the nearby back streets before ducking down to Darling Harbour via the Four Points Sheraton. The city has some art installations set up at the moment and I stumbled on one just prior to the shoot in a quiet corner near the QVB.
I discovered even more real estate that I never knew existed in this place but more importantly I had a wonderful time with Johnny and Laurence as we talked about love, blue lights, Chinese Laundries and the winter that ends in this cold spring of Sydney’s.
Looking forward to another beautiful wedding. Coming soon!
