Chris and Jess brought a plus one, canine Scout, and came to Wahroonga and slipped into the bushland a couple of Sunday’s ago for a Ku-ring-gai Chase engagement session.
It was beautiful in the late afternoon, the stillness of the day barely disturbed by even the gentlest of breezes, and sunlight pushing to the red spectrum as it cut through the dust and smoke of our early summer dryness and fires. We stood on one edge of Sydney and were able to block out the maddening roar in favour of the small sounds of leaves rustling, twigs dropping and a few birds making themselves heard.
It was a perfect spot to photograph them, their love for animals and nature is part of their conversation.
The strength of a relationship is sometimes shown in grand gestures (“he took me to Paris”…), but in the photos I love it’s seen in seemingly little things like the gentlest touches, lingering glances, whispered moments, and the ease of laughter.
I keep looking for that in photographs because it’s so very real.
Chris and Jess are in love. You can see it in the little things…
