Invitations arrive to celebrate a remarkable wedding. Drop everything and head half a world away. Isn’t there something very special about pulling people together to celebrate love. Nathan is Welsh and Lara is South African and their family and friends made vacation and holiday plans from the UK, Africa, North America and the Middle East to gather together for a Mountain Ridge Wines Wedding.
The winery is on the South Coast Shoalhaven area just next to Berry, making it two hours, and a world away, from Sydney.
The scenery is gorgeous, the winery beautiful, the food and drink memorable. Then throw into the mix some of the elements that take weddings to the next level, in this case gorgeous floral work, some South African drink called Amarula which is “best enjoyed neat or on ice, ideally with a view,” which we already had, a mix of international guests who mostly love Rugby and had better stories than we do in Australia…, loads of funny speeches, some very poignant moments, lots of dancing inside and out.
They booked out loads of rooms at the nearby Coolangatta Estate and spent the morning getting ready in their rooms and catching up with their family and friends, with the occasional toast.
There was a quick trip around to the winery where the service took place on the side of the hill. Then the serious business of celebrating Nathan and Lara continued onsite amid loads of laughter.
Lara’s hair was arranged by Elise from Mane and Tales. Her makeup was done by Megan from Makeup by Megan. The amazing flowers were by Linda from Twig and Vine.
Jim from Personalised DJS provided the music for their reception. The wedding ceremony and reception was held at the beautiful Mountain Ridge Winery.
