Matthew and I have known each other for many years, as friends and colleagues. I love Matthew’s attitude towards his wedding work, and his skill speaks volumes (check out Inkster Productions). But this isn’t just about Matt today. It’s about Matt marrying his sweetheart in a beautiful heartfelt Pymble Golf Club wedding.
Matthew met and fell in love with Farren a few years ago and it quickly became apparent to both of them that maybe Tennyson had it right, “If I had a flower for every time I thought of you… I could walk through my garden forever.”
And if not Alfred then certainly When Harry Met Sally, “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” Matthew certainly talked about Farren in these terms long before their engagement.
So it ended up being no surprise that a date for their Pymble Golf Club wedding was set and preparations were well underway.
Although maybe with the slight difference that Matthew was front and centre, in regards to the organisation, in a way that too few grooms are.
The outcome of that was taking great delight in watching Matthew spend half the morning being incredibly excited about the day, and talking excitedly about the day, and about Farren and the wedding, all their plans, and the reception, and the weather. The other half of the morning he spent redoing his tie and jacket, because his fingers and mind weren’t co-operating, in his excitement!
Farren, with quiet calmness and serenity, was the antidote to Matthew’s genuinely expressed excitement.
The morning preparations took place at the Sebel Hawkesbury. Switching between the two rooms was lots of fun and really easy (it’s fantastic when couple’s get ready near each other)
Matthew has written a few words about the day…
Before Farren and I got engaged, we knew we were booking David. In fact, before we got engaged we had booked David (it was a unique proposal) to make sure he was with us on the day.
Being in the wedding industry and working alongside so many photographers, I knew exactly what I wanted for ourselves and David’s unique style, quality and overall great nature made it a really easy choice for us.
On the day of the wedding at Pymble Golf Club it was actually great just having him there, helping us with so many things and being really patient with us. Farren actually got tire shine on her dress just before the ceremony, and David chipped in and helped us all clean it off ready in time for the wedding.
Then when we had the ceremony, at over 6 foot tall David still managed to be quite hidden and get some amazing shots of us and our guests! The location shoot was a lot of fun, and I really didn’t want it to end especially as David helped us look our best but we didn’t feel like we were being posed. The whole day was such a blur, and there was so much which I had forgotten until we got to see the footage and the photos.
When Farren and I did receive the photos, we spent hours going through all of them together (and subsequently ended up being late for a dinner). Once we got home, Farren stayed up until 2am just marvelling at the gorgeous moments David had captured.
You can’t wipe the smile off our faces and out of everything, the photography and footage have made the day!
One of the best parts of the day was the first dance. We had no idea what we were doing but it worked out great and, surprisingly, everyone told us it looked choreographed.
It really did look choreographed and it kind of encapsulated everything about Matt and Farren’s relationship – it was fun, refreshing, funny and genuine.
I asked Matthew what he felt as Farren walked towards him for the ceremony, which was held at Pymble Golf Club with its beautiful grounds, “…it felt like everything in my life had come together. Honestly, I had never thought I would marry someone as amazing as her. Seeing Farren walk down the aisle was just overwhelming.“
We wish Matt and Farren years of happiness and I look forward to working with one of the best in the industry for years to come to!
