Ben’s Facebook wall was full of regular countdown notifications. For quite a while now both he and Patricia had planned out the day of their Sydney Botanic Gardens Wedding with great care and detail. “It’s going to be lots of fun, a great party, and I can’t wait. And I can’t wait to marry Pat!” Ben had said repeatedly.
He was quite looking forward to seeing Patricia for the first time, walking towards him in the Botanic Gardens, and to being surrounded by their family and friends at the reception at the Kirribilli Club, Lavender Bay. Check out their cake topper – the very indication of ’til death do us part! (Are you allowed to write about such things in a wedding post!?).
After the ceremony, family photographs and some formals in the gardens, we all crossed the Harbour Bridge to do some shots underneath it. This was the weekend when the national Australian photography awards were taking place at Luna Park all weekend with Australia’s best photographers grouped en masse around the venue. And I was very aware of that. A group of twenty or so photographers wandered past us as I was taking shots of Ben and Patricia silhouetted against the setting sun and I could feel the inspection of eyes… But that was nothing by comparison with the delighted eyes of Ben and Patricia looking at each other throughout the day and evening.

Patricia’s hair and makeup was done by Nicolle from Reel EFX Makeup Studio.
