Less than a couple of months prior to the wedding day I was enjoying chatting with Joanna and Alex in town. Joanna had just got back from the last part of an overseas trip that had been quite memorable. In the first part of it, Alex had asked that most important life and love question (in New York from memory), that results in a flurry of activity when the “yes” passes the lips. And they’d decided to make that flurry a whirlwind by having a short engagement with an end of year Bathers Pavilion wedding at Balmoral.
Joanna had continued on with a tour in Italy where a small group of them travelled throughout those famous, beautiful and gelato-enriched regions. Amongst the group were Nathan and Jennifer who were honeymooning after their wedding, and ever so kindly talked about their photographer.
Now back in Sydney the preparations were urgently underway to allow a lovely Bathers Pavilion wedding to be organised in double quick time. Alex kept talking about all his different connections who were helping out on a range of things including, but in no way limited to, additional lighting at Balmoral for the reception (a fabulous touch of colour with which to wash the walls).
With a few weeks to go until the wedding and lots of things left to organise, Alex decided to hire a wedding planner as a present for Joanna. And as a present it went down very well. Bree from White Rabbit Projects was detailed, precise, organised and helpful both before and on the day of the wedding. There is no doubt that a good planner can make things hum!
Alex got ready at the Hilton, somewhere high up in the building, with views to Mosman and beyond which was also a great backdrop in and of itself.
Joanna was getting ready at home. Simona Janek, another of this city’s highly talented and highly recommended wedding vendors, was putting the final hair and make-up touches for Joanna and her bridesmaid.
Another of Alex’s friends, Ricky Su, led the service on a beautiful afternoon down at Balmoral, underneath the Rotunda. That, of course, made it even more personal for Alex and Joanna and for their guests.
Pre-dinner drinks and canapés on the rooftop balcony at Bather’s led into a beautiful reception where everyone really enjoyed exceptional food and drink. The room was set out beautifully and the evening rolled on quickly as everyone conversed.
Congratulations Joanna and Alex.
If you’re taking the plunge into marriage and would love beautiful photography (and not just for a Bathers Pavilion wedding) then it’s time to talk to Sarah or myself. We take compelling, elegant and timeless stills. We capture the most valuable images in the world. Yours.
