James and Kate’s engagement session took place up at beautiful Newcastle Beach. This is hometown for Kate. James hales from NZ. I understand there might be some good spots for photography there as well…
I went up and back on the train from Hornsby, which was an excellent way to see the scenery and get delivered to the end of the line just a few hundred metres from the beach. I reckon this is what Novocastrians have liked keeping hidden – it is one of Australia’s great wonders.
We went to the baths and the local beaches. We stood in the sand and felt the salt whip over us, we went to a local cafe that Kate (in all good taste) knew from her too-many-to-count visits for their gelato (and it was good), and we shot some stills at the end of the beach where James had asked the big (BIG) question.
Congratulations James and Kate. We’re looking forward to your wedding day.
