Joe and Amy were gifted a beautiful Dunbar House wedding day, despite a huge amount of wet weather in the lead up and on their day, it remained a really happy and fun wedding. Joe and his groomsmen got ready on the top floor of Rushcutters Bay’s Vibe Hotel, a great location for the trip to the Watson’s Bay ceremony. Amy and her bridesmaids were making the most of the Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, with a lovely front room overlooking that never-boring Sydney Harbour view.
Amy climbed into her gorgeous dress by Jennifer Regan and the girls oohed-and-aahed, for quite some time. Amy’s hair and makeup was done by the amazing Simona Janek. She wore some gorgeous Jimmy Choo shoes and carried at bouquet from Floral Desire.
The rain turned up as Amy drove to Watsons Bay Our Lady Star of the Sea and that made for a quick dash from car to portico.
With the rain continuing to fall we did the family and group photographs inside the church, after the ceremony. A very brief lull meant we could pop up to the lighthouse at Watsons Bay for some bridal party shots before getting in early at Dunbar House which is a very special location inside and out.
Jeremiah Hartmann was their MC for the evening. I hadn’t met Jeremiah before and asked him what his connection was to Joe and Amy, assuming he was somehow related. And that’s a good measure of an MC, the feeling of warmth, fun, personal touches and connection that they can impart which often doesn’t come easily. Jeremiah got everyone onto the dance floor for Joe and Amy’s entrance. The room was packed, the music went off, everyone cheered, clapped and danced around Joe and Amy – giving them a very special memory of that moment.
With a great band, lots of brilliant speeches, a photobooth, and all the fun that comes from a happy room full of celebration Joe and Amy were in the middle of a wonderful party.
