A bunch of family and friends travelled from Sydney and Newcastle and other parts, bound for Lismore and Ballina, to celebrate Steve and Jaclyn’s Down Converys Lane wedding. Matthew, from Inkster Productions, very kindly drove us up for the weekend where we were very excited to be part of a Northern NSW wedding.
We arrived just on sunset in Ballina and met up briefly with Steve and Jaclyn for a quick “the day-before” shoot on the beach.
Linda from Twig and Vine flowers was also part of the Southern “crew”, and not just to produce some amazingly beautiful bouquets, buttonholes, arbour and table decorations but also to be part of the bridal party.
Jaclyn’s bridal preparations began in Ballina, overlooking the still-swollen river, but blessed with a gorgeous crystal clear day.
Steve and his groomsmen were easing themselves into the morning. Matthew and I kept laughing at all the humour and ribbing taking place.
Halfway between Lismore and Ballina is the reception place, Down Converys Lane. It truly is nestled into that incredibly beautiful countryside that runs for miles in every direction there.
A large group witnessed the ceremony and were also joined by a few via skype, which provided a moment of laughter when a comment or two came through loud and clear from somewhere on the other side of the world.
Matthew and I rejoiced at the ridiculously good sunset, darkness falling just as the reception got underway (as opposed to the other way!).
The food was fantastic, the speeches excellent, the dancing happy, the music was brilliantly played by Bradley Stone and everyone had a great time at a truly fun country wedding.
If you’re taking the plunge into marriage and would love beautiful photography (including more Down Converys Lane wedding) then it’s time to talk to Sarah or myself. We take compelling, elegant and timeless stills. We capture the most valuable images in the world. Yours.
